Pre-construction

Before construction starts, we can help you with a range of vital services to ensure your project runs smoothly.

Making approvals happen

We develop a plan that details all regulatory and environmental approvals required for your project. We provide expert assessment, manage your vegetation and biodiversity offsets, facilitate the relevant approval processes, and deliver ongoing environmental management.

  • Mitigating environmental risks. Our environmental assessments include items such as water quality, ecology, noise, air quality, community issues and traffic and transport. We develop practical mitigation measures that help minimise environmental impacts and facilitate regulatory approval. Our solutions are supported by relevant environmental surveys and impact and feasibility studies. They are also informed by our dedicated environment team, which offers vast experience in energy and infrastructure development, and a range of complementary disciplines.
  • Managing offsets. We have entered into an exclusive agreement with Greening Australia to provide vegetation and biodiversity offset services. Through this powerful partnership we are able to offer our clients a complete offset management service – from locating suitable offset vegetation, to obtaining the regulatory approval, and ongoing maintenance and regulatory reporting of the offset.
  • Continuously looking after your surrounds. An important part of gaining environmental approvals is demonstrating your ongoing commitment to construction environmental management. We liaise with regulators to determine the standards you need to meet, and create a program to implement and regularly audit performance and mitigation measures.
  • Facilitating approvals. We have an experienced team to help you secure environmental approvals by providing all the required data for your applications, for all relevant approvals and permits.

Land access management

We focus on maximising your land access security to prevent project delays and cost blow-outs. Our stakeholder engagement specialists build relationships with all relevant stakeholders – not just landowners – to assist you in completing your project on time and budget.

  • Managing access to land. We negotiate with landowners for various access needs including exploration and well establishment programs, facility infrastructure requirements and pipeline development projects. We work closely with you and the landowners to understand all needs, and negotiate in a structured and consistent manner. We manage the whole interface from initial land access, to compliance during construction activities, and final close-out documentation.
  • Communicating with stakeholders. Our aim is to design out risk and proactively manage issues by predicting stakeholder pressure points. We undertake comprehensive stakeholder profiling and analysis to identify the full spectrum of directly and indirectly impacted stakeholder groups who will be influenced by, and have the power to influence, the progress and success of your project. This inclusive view enables us to consider and proactively address the issues and expectations of each stakeholder group and to develop targeted engagement and social impact management strategies which are practical, proven and that deliver results for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Developing indigenous agreements. Our team works with indigenous stakeholders to develop appropriate project relationships and agreements. We work in the areas of native title consents and cultural heritage management, including complete field surveying management. Our expert negotiators engage with diverse stakeholders and interests to deliver fair and long-lasting outcomes for all parties.

Spatial data management

Our spatial data management provides essential information and mapping that helps your entire project process flow smoothly, efficiently and safely.

  • Managing spatial data. We provide in-house survey expertise and equipment, and have broad experience surveying sensitive constraint areas for infrastructure corridors and developing mapping requirements for projects. Before the project commences, we adopt an agreed approach to your spatial data storage and management. We use the latest GIS systems to manage all technical, landowner, consultation, design, route and other data in an integrated way. This ensures all members of your project team can access information when and where they need it.
  • Delivering technical expertise. Our technical services group provides expert assistance in the areas of engineering, cost estimating, scheduling, project management, construction supervision, quality and route selection. Our team of specialist engineers and construction personnel can develop the engineering required for construction, and assist in finalising approvals, access to land, and equipment procurement.

Project controls and contract administration

Our systems provide current data for project managers to optimise performance and identify and rectify any issues early. We can develop, implement and manage a fully integrated project control system or advise and help you improve your existing systems. Our capabilities include:

  • project accounting
  • procurement
  • contract management
  • scheduling and planning
  • estimating and budgeting
  • cost control and reporting
  • document management
  • quality and risk management
  • issue and dispute resolution
  • feasibility analysis.
